The world looks on as I, Chris Cable enter the AWA ring for the last time. This is where I started my wrestling career, this is the place where I won my first titles and knocked out my first opponents. After travelling the world and wrestling in all the major countries in the world and now I return to my home for one last time, to say goodbye to the fans that gave birth to C Double and his dreaded elbow.
"Break" plays by Three Days Grace as I go through the curtain separating the backstage area to the ring. I hear the thousands of people who have jammed The Rod Laver Arena in my hometown of Melbourne standing up and cheering at my music as I hit the ramp in a 360 spin and lifting my elbow up above my head. I can't help but smile at the tremendous amount of people who have turned up for the AWA event. It was all over the news for the past couple of days about the last time I would be wrestling in this great company.
Apart from Drake Hunter who had dominated the company while he was here I was next to him. While he was world champion I was the TV champion and the tag champion I had held every major championship in the company except for the world title until Drake left and I seized the opportunity, I won the world title and held it for over a year before the international circuit became interested in me, from there I left and finally ended up where I am today in NYCCW one of the biggest feds of them all.
The squared circle feels like my home and the fans are my neighbours. The ring is the one place where Chris Cable is a king and tonight I will show that in front of 15,000 fans tonight!
My music stops playing as I see all the heads of the fans turning to see my opponent, Kita Nurokishi. A man who came from Japan and is a legend of the Australian ring. Kita and I had massive feuds over the years I had been here. The fans also adore Kita as it would be the last time he stepped in the ring before he self would be moving to bigger and better things. After posing for the fans and himself appreciating the passionate wrestling fans in attendance we both stand in the ring face to face for what might be the last time. The last time that I would maybe wrestle in Australia my beloved country. I look at it different though because I am one of the biggest wrestling stars in America.
We both stand in the ring looking at the crowd as they go mad for what could be the biggest match in the history of the AWA. The referee calls for the bell and the match is underway. We shake hands as the crowd clap in appreciation.
We lock up, I get the advantage early as I slide underneath his arms and grab hold of his waist looking for a German suplex but Kita counters with a quick arm bar and rolling me to the ground, I slide out as quickly as he got me in the hold and I grab Kita in a headlock and squeeze as hard as I can. Kita once again slips out and counters it with a back suplex attempt but I show my athleticism by flipping out and landing on my feet. I turn my feet and look straight at Kita who stands opposite me staring right into my eyes. The fans cheer as they admire the skill used in that sequence of moves. I decide that there's been to much waiting around and I charge at Kita with a running elbow he gets out of the way and hits a huge dropkick right to my face. The pain shoots through as I feel my neck snap as it hits the canvas below us. The crowd cheer to he first impact move of the night.
=======40 minutes later=======
The match has been going on for some time and we are both drained by the amount of damage each has dealt to each other. We both get up slowly after a super kick that nearly one Kita the match. After we are staggering Kita goes for another super kick out of nowhere but this time I see it coming, I dodge and return with a stiff elbow to the back of Kita's head, I show a huge grin as I sense the end coming, I grab Kita's limp body and put him on my shoulders in a firmans carry, the fans are clueless what I am doing as it is a position that I rarely use. I lift Kita up and even higher in the air before dropping him right on my knee which drops down as well, the crowd are in awe after hearing the sound of the move, I wasn't done there though. Once more I grab Kita but this time I feel that he is nearly out and this means only one move left that could deal such a blow that It would definitely secure the win, the ripcord elbow.
I look at the crows around me as they start to cheer, I lift my arm in the air before spinning in a 180 degree before lifting my elbow in the air, I walk over to Kita in the corner and carry him to the centre of the ring where I finish the match finally, I turn Kita into a neckbreaker position before delivering the death blow, the ripcord elbow.
1.......2.........3!!!!
The crowd cheer along as I lay on the ground next to Kita exhausted and sore after the gruelling match. After recovering I sit on my knees with microphone in hand which was given to me by the assistant at ringside.
"Thankyou everyone for coming down tonight, I would like to thank Kita as well for the best match of my life, but most of all I have to thank every single wrestler, assistant, fan who has ever supported, wrestled in AWA, this company is on the rise and it is because of the acts of people like me and Drake Hunter. Talking of Drake, you are the reason this company is on the map so thank you..
(the crowd cheer and clap at the statement)
Chris Cable, D Double would not be here today if it wasn't for you so thankyou and goodbye for now, I promise that I will be back, it might be next year or in 10 but I promise I will..
AND THAT IS THE GOSPEL ACCORING TO CHRIS CABLE!!
The crows join in all in unison at the last words of my catchphrase.
I get somewhat emotion at the fact that this would be the last time that I would appear in an AWA ring for a while. The place where Chris Cable started he has now finished. It's time to do something new. Its time I take the world heavyweight title and become the king of NYCCW and the world. It is my next quest and I will, if it's next week or next month it doesn't matter because that world title is coming into the age of the elbow!
