The scene started at the Ace Arena where I sat down in the staircase near the parking lot as the camera crew started to roll the video as I look at one of the NYCCW banners as I start to speak.
Taufik: “I remember that one time a famous wrestling promoter put up a hanging out spot, and they called it “The World," I’ve always wanted to go there as a wrestling fan but I’ve never got the chance to go there. I sometime regretted of not going here when “The World” was still around, but I was training to be something I am now and that’s more worth it than everything that I’ve missed while training.”
The camera then turns to the angle where my whole face can be seen, as I continue to speak.
Taufik: “The memories of Tank Washington and Justin Fischer attacking and beating the hell out of me are still fresh. I guess Tank Washington still have that Crossface that passed him out is still lingering in his mind and same goes to Justin Fischer, Cameron and him has issues with each other somehow have to do with their memory of the past, but at the same time he says that he has seen everything I have to offer to the table, but one thing he didn't know is that it’s just only the beginning. He doesn't even know what I’m capable of because I don’t it needed yet.”
I take a few moments to catch my breath before continuing to speak.
Taufik: “The match that I’m in this week is one of the matches that I thought I would never be involved in again as there is a memory that stored in my mind that makes me hate makes me want to puke and even until this day, I hated the word Tag Team match, Tag Team Action, etc. Let me share you a piece of this memory where it makes me started hating in Tag Team Wrestling.”
I then take a sip out of the water bottle that I was carrying with me as I start to tell my story.
Taufik: “It was during my rookie years, a wrestler by the name of Arnold “GoodFella” Bold; we were a tag team, and one of the most successful tag teams that the independent scene has ever laid their eyes on, and he was my friend. We didn't win any tag title because we were busy feuding with wrestler after wrestler before we could even think about getting a shot at the titles. By the time we ever get the title shot. My partner made a stupid move and turned on me because he sold his soul to the devil as he went and hit me with the chair as we were about to win the tag-team title, the very first title that I could have held passionately but thanks to my idiot partner, that never happen didn’t it?”
I take a few deep breaths because the memory actually brings back the pain as I continue to speak.
Taufik: “He keeps saying that what he did is for business, he needs to do it because he needs to feed his parents, his family, and he can’t back away from the money he was offered by the stable that paid him to do that. Until this day, I’ve not at any time forgotten that incident, and I’ve vowed that I’ll never be going to be in a tag-team match, unless I trusted them, but that’s the problem. I never trust anyone, but this match that I’m in has involved another man, and he’s not just any kind of man. He’s my former trainer Cameron Rivers.”
I then take a look at the parking lot as I stand up and started walking down the steps of the staircase as I continue to speak.
Taufik: “The same Cameron River that has trained me since I was in Greg Jackson camp, so it really put me in a tough spot on whether I shall trust my partner or not but Cameron River has his own issues with Justin Fischer, and the action that they have done last week is the reason why this match is happening at the first place. I have to trust my former trainer because the last thing that he would want to do is to screw this up and let Justin Fischer and Tank Washington to get the upper hands on us. I just hope that the memory of the experience doesn't show up again as I see the both of you this Saturday.”
I then walk to my car and got in and ignite the engine as I drove away as the video stop recording. While driving I was thinking of having a manager to take care of some stuff like my finance and even accompany me to ringside as I stop at the traffic light, I make a phone call to the person. After a few ring, the person picked up the phone as I start to talk.
Taufik: “Hey there, I was wondering do you want to be my manager? Well, you are going to be my manager in the ring and outside the ring, but I have to let you know you need to be professional about it. So what do you think?”
As I told the person more details about the job, the scene fades to black.
