I like this gym. It was why I came here…not just because my brother worked here. The best part was that the chances of me running into one of those losers from the fed was slim. Not that I was afraid of confrontation…no…it was that my work outs were important and I didn’t want to be interrupted.
I was pissed off. Rage had almost killed my interviewer. Which meant unless I did one myself, I had to call London. Oh well, she’d do whatever she had to get a story. But that was later.
I turned up my Ipod and started to run faster. I was almost done here, and in 5 minutes I was cooling down.
I reflected on the events of this weekend. First off, seeing Lexi enter that wedding in that red backless number…I wanted to go and talk to her but Drake hovered around her. I had promised I wouldn’t cause trouble and so I had avoided that which would have caused it.
I couldn’t help but notice that when Sam motioned for the girls to line up for the bouquet, Drake pulled her away. They had big goofy grins on their faces and I had rolled my eyes. So tacky.
I hadn’t stayed much longer after that.
I was damn pissed that Cameron had gotten an advantage over me and then Fucking Taufik. Well whatever, good for him he’d beat me and now he could leave me the fuck alone. I had bigger fish to fry and he was not even in my league anyway….
A hell in a cell with Rivers. Perfect. Just me and him and I could finally end him right there. Send him back home with his tail between his legs like the bitch he was.
I switched to cool down. Once I was done, I wiped away sweat and went to the showers. I picked up my phone and saw there was a waiting voice mail. Geez, this guy never texted. Drove me crazy cuz I hated talking on the phone.
I listened. He wanted to know if I liked his latest work. Everything was working perfectly and when we did finally reveal our alliance and plans, it would bring our victims to their knees. I smirked.
I called him back and got his voicemail.
“Hi.” Lame I know but like I said….I hate calling. You never know what to say.
“Anyway…yeah, it was fine man. Keep up the good work. You’re getting to them. Just be careful with your next job… if you get caught…it will be all over.”
I hung up. My ‘partner’ was almost finished with his work. I had to admit, he was a bigger fish then I, but I didn’t mind. I didn’t believe in friendships. I always kept a guard up because you never know when they might double cross you but you did need Allies sometimes. Besides, he thought the same way I did, so I couldn’t see us not getting along. If I wanted to be taken more seriously then I needed to have backing and mentorship from someone like him.
The wait was almost unbearable, but well worth it.
